Based on the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (2003) and the provincial Personal Health Information Protection Act (2004) we are mandated to:

Consent needed for the collection, use and disclosure of information- internally or externally
Limit the collection, use, disclosure and retention of information given
Ensure accuracy of all files. Clients will be advised how to notify us of errors which will be immediately corrected
All employees will sign an individual confidentiality and privacy commitment upon employment. This will be reviewed on a regular basis with employees. Violations of the privacy commitment will be subject to disciplinary actions
Safeguards will be in place according to strict standards of security and confidentiality
Openness and honesty regarding personal information practices
Access to personal information will be on a need to know basis. This applies to information in all forms
